Bilaspur, October 5

Sounding the poll bugle in election-bound hill state, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the AIIMS and hydro-engineering college here on Wednesday.

With this being the PM's third visit to Himachal within a year, it is expected that Modi, who has a close affinity with the hill state where he remained the BJP in-charge, will address more election rallies in the coming month.

Modi inaugurated Rs 1,471 crore AIIMS at Kothipura near here and Rs 140 crore hydro-engineering college. He also virtually laid the foundation stone of Rs 350 crore Medical Devices Park at Nalagarh and Rs 1,692 crore Pinjore-Nalagarh four lane.

BJP president JP Nadda, Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, Union Minister Anurag Thakur, BJP state chief Suresh Kashyap, and other ministers and party MLA's were present on the occasion.

Assembly elections in Himachal will be held in November. The BJP is hoping to repeat its term by breaking the jinx of no government repeating in the state.

Modi, who was scheduled to address a public meeting at Mandi, the home turf of the CM on September 24, could not arrive due to inclement weather and addressed the gathering virtually.
