The local MeT office has issued an orange warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorm and lightning in mid and low hills and thunderstorm and lightning in high hills for July 9 and 10.
The MeT Department has also predicted that light to moderate rain is likely to continue during the next 4-5 days and there is possibility of heavy rainfall in Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur, Una, Hamirpur and Bilaspur during the next two to four days.
Light to moderate rains lashed parts of Himachal today. Jatton Barrage was the wettest with 70 mm of rain, followed by Nahan 41 mm, Kheri 25 mm, Paonta Sahib 11 mm and Kasol 10 mm.
Meanwhile, a landslide at Mashobra in the suburbs of Shimla has endangered three residential buildings, which have been evacuated. As many as 59 persons living in Aashirwad Bhawan, Basant Cottage and Munna Lal Bhen are being provided shelter in the Panchayati Raj Training Institute, Mashobra, and the State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute, Shimla, said Deputy Commissioner, Shimla Aditya Negi.
