CM inaugurating projects started by Congress govt: MLA

Mandi, July 12

Ram Lal Thakur, Congress MLA and chairman of the Election Management Committee of the party, today alleged that Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was inaugurating development projects that were started by the previous Congress government.

Ram Lal, while addressing mediapersons here, said that the BJP was already in the election mode. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited Himachal frequently and was scheduled to visit Bilaspur district shortly. He added this indicated that the BJP could announce the Assembly elections early.

He said, "The Congress is ready to defeat the BJP in the Assembly elections. The Election Management Committee is making efforts to strengthen the party at the grass-roots level. Feedback is being taken from party workers and their views on how to win the Assembly elections are being considered to formulate strategy. A detailed report about election preparedness will be submitted to the party leadership in Delhi."

"I have covered Kangra, Mandi, Solan, Shimla and Sirmaur districts and will attend a meeting with party workers in Kullu district tomorrow to formulate the election strategy," he added.

Ram Lal alleged that the Chief Minister had put Himachal under heavy debt. "Corruption is rampant during the BJP rule. The Congress is preparing a chargesheet against BJP leaders. Unemployment is another issue that the Congress will raise during the election campaign," he added.
