The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) today released results of the Class XII examinations. The chairman of the board, SK Soni, while addressing a press conference here today, said the overall pass percentage was 93.91.
He said the top 10 positions in science, arts and commerce streams were bagged by 92 students — 76 girls and 16 boys. Overall, government schools performed better than private schools, he said.

The chairman said in the science stream, 53 students (39 girls and 14 boys) grabbed the top 10 positions.
In the arts stream, 20 students (including 19 students from government schools) gained the top 10 spots.
In the commerce stream, there were 19 students (17 girls, two boys) in the list of top 10. In the commerce stream, 12 toppers were from government schools and seven from private schools, the chairman said.

A total of 88,003 students had appeared in Class XII exams, out of which 82,342 passed. In science stream, Kshitiz Sharma of New Gurukul Public School, Gopal Nagar, in Hamirpur district, Shagun Rana from Ishan Public Senior Secondary School, Samloti, in Kangra district and Akshita Sharma of Government Sr Secondary School, Berthen, in Bilaspur district jointly topped, scoring 98.6 per cent marks. The second position was jointly bagged by Aryan Puri of Government Senior Secondary, Dhusara, in Una district, scoring 98.4 per cent marks. The third spot was grabbed by Suryavansh of Government Senior Secondary School, Giara Gran, in Hamirpur district, Kavya Dhiman from SAKS Government Senior Secondary School, Jahndutta, in Bilaspur district, Sara Sharma of Acme Senior Secondary School, Hamirpur, and Raghavender Singh Saklani of Ambition Classes Sr Secondary School, Mohal, in Kullu district, scoring 98 per cent marks.
In the commerce stream, Tanisha Bharadwaj of Government Sr Secondary School, Thathal, in Una district topped, scoring 98 per cent marks. Malya Bhatia of Government Senior Secondary School, Dehra, in Kangra district secured the second position, scoring 97.4 per cent. Shagun Singh of BL Central Public School, Kunihar, in Solan district was third, scoring 96.8 per cent.
In the arts stream, Vani Gautam of SVPM Government Model Senior Secondary School, Ghumarwin, in Bilaspur district topped, scoring 98.8 per cent marks. The second position was jointly bagged by Angel of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Chamba, and Vanishka of Government Senior Secondary School, Sai, in Kangra district, scoring 98 per cent.
The third postion was jointly bagged by two students — Sheetal Verma of Government Senior Secondary School, Khalag, in Shimla district and Tanvi Verma of Government Senior Secondary School, Bhojnagar, in Solan district, scoring 97.8 per cent.
