Give AAP one chance to serve Himachal: Kejriwal to public

Kullu, June 25

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today urged the people of Himachal to give Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) one chance to serve them. He along with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann participated in the Tiranga Yatra at Dhalpur here. The yatra started from the College Chowk and culminated at the Dhalpur Chowk amid sloganeering. Both Kejriwal and Mann addressed the gathering from the 'rath' at the Dhalpur Chowk.

Kejriwal said, "Where does the budget of thousands of crores of rupees go in Himachal? It goes in the pockets of leaders, both Congress and BJP by turn". He alleged that no new school or hospital had been constructed in the state. "We have reformed government schools in Delhi. A common man sends his wards to a private school because the condition of government schools in Himachal is pathetic. Successive Congress and BJP governments have failed to improve the educational infrastructure in the state, as they were not concerned about the future of our children," he added.

He said that if people wanted the condition of government schools in Himachal to be improved, they should give one chance to AAP. He added, "We will change the future of your children. You can kick us out if we do not fulfil our promises".

Kejriwal said, "We have not come to do politics in Himachal. We had formed the party during the Anna Hazare Andolan to remove corruption. First, corruption was removed from Delhi and now it is the turn of Punjab. The Punjab Chief Minister put one of his Cabinet ministers behind bars for corruption even before the Opposition or the media could come to know about the matter".

He said that AAP followed a zero tolerance policy against corruption. "We have proved in Delhi how better education and health facilities can be provided to people. Four vans will tour all four parliamentary constituencies of Himachal to understand the problems and demands of people," he added. He thanked people for participating in the yatra.

Mann said, "We are not here for a show of strength but to talk about how to improve your living standards, employment for your children, better treatment of senior citizens and other matters that affect common people". He added, "Within 100 days of forming government in Punjab, we have taken several welfare decisions that were not taken in the past 75 years after Independence. It was for the first time in the history of Punjab that AAP won 92 of 117 seats and this was possible because of Kejriwal's farsightedness".
