Adopt yoga, students urged

On the eve of the International Day of Yoga, Himachal Pradesh University Pro-VC Jyoti Prakash urged the youth and students to make yoga a part of their lives and everyday routine. While addressing the students at a yoga event, he said yoga was being practised since ancient times for maintaining good health and the current and coming generations should take the legacy forward.

Vanshika wins poster competition

Vanshika got the first position in the poster-making competition oganised by the Central Publicity Bureau at Government Senior Secondary School, Chabutra, in Hamirpur on Monday. Neha Thakur of the school grabbed the second position and Mansi Bhatia the third. The painting competition was organised to mark the International Yoga Day. Surjit Singh, bureau in charge, said winners would be rewarded during the yoga session to be organised on Tuesday.

Teachers' protest enters 25th day

The protest of the university and college teachers for the implementation of the UGC scale, due since 2016, entered the 25th day on Monday. During the protest at the HPU, the teachers urged the government to implement the scale without any further delay. They said they would soon make new strategies for taking the agitation ahead and warned to stop all activities in colleges.
