The Chalo Chamba Abhiyan is playing an important role in promoting tourism activities in Chamba district. This campaign is an initiative of the district administration, said local MLA Pawan Nayyar while speaking on the closing ceremony of the 2nd edition of Rally of Chamba under Chalo Chamba Campaign at the NHPC complex at Karian, near here today.
The first edition of the rally was organised last year. In the second edition,100 participants hailing from 18 states participated.
Deputy Commissioner DC Rana said the rally vehicles reached Pangi passing through the Saach Pass and the participants enjoyed the journey by competing on the adventurous route.
MLA Pawan Nayyar distributed prizes to the winners. Himachali folk singer Sunil Rana along with his team gave a colorful performance on the closing ceremony.
The winners of Rally of Chamba:
Driver Vishal Kataria from Delhi and navigator Sahid Salman stood first and were overall winner in extreme four-wheeler section. Driver Abhishek Mishra from Rajasthan and navigator PVS Moorthy from Chennai stood second, while driver Chirag Thakur from Shimla and navigator Rahul Singh from Agra stood third.
Driver Kushagra Agarwal from Delhi and navigator T Nagarajal from Chennai won the first position (Overall Winner Adventure). Second position went to driver Shantanu Grover and navigator Raja Singh and Karan Purohit from Gurugram and Delhi respectively, while the third position was bagged by driver Jeet Mitra and Navigator Prasonjit Roy from Kolkata.
Similarly, the overall winner (two-wheeler moto) all the winners were from Kullu district of Himachal in which Nitish Bhardwaj stood first, Happy Verma was second while Mohit Thakur came third.
