Shimla, May 7
Five workers were trapped inside the tunnel of the under-construction 150 MW Tidong hydel power project in Kinnaur district on Saturday.
Of these three have been rescued.
The mishap took place in the morning when the workers were coming out of the 180-metre digging point after their shift got over.
The mechanical system installed for lifting and dropping workers developed a snag and fell back into the under-construction tunnel after coming up for about 20 metres, sources said.
Three of the five workers were rescued and sent for medical treatment to Rampur as they had received injuries. Efforts are on to rescue the two other workers.
