Key tourist towns of Kufri and Chharabra saw light snow on Sunday much to the delight of tourists.
The sky was overcast and strong icy winds blew, causing the temperature to fall during the day.
The Met office had predicted rain and thundershowers in the lower hills and rain and snow at many places in the mid- and higher hills on Sunday.
Snow is especially beneficial for apple orchards.
