GVK EMRI has agreed to run the 102/108 ambulance service till November end following their talks with the government today. "We will continue to operate these services till the end of the month subject to the approval of our operational and financial requirements," said a GVK official.
Two days ago, the company had threatened to stop the 102 service after November 14, citing financial losses. The company did stop the operations of 102 ambulances today morning but resumed it after talks with the government.
The company's contract to operate these services has run out, but there is a lack of clarity on when the new contractor will start operating. "The government wants us to continue till December 31. The discussions in this regard are on with the government," said the GVK official. — TNS
