Five deaths — two in Solan and one each in Bilaspur, Kullu and Sirmaur — were reported in rain-related incidents in the past 24 hours, taking the toll during the monsoon season to 379 while 13 persons were still missing.
As many as 17 roads, including seven in Mandi, six in Kullu and two each in Chamba and Shimla, are still closed.
The local Meteorological Department office has warned of a thunderstorm and lightning in five districts of Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur tomorrow and predicted a wet spell in the region till September 17.
Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rain lashed several parts of the state and Jogindernagar was the wettest with 94 mm of rain followed by Ghamroor (Kangra) 73 mm, Nahan 49 mm, Kufri 45 mm, Jubbarhatti 41 mm, Dalhousie 37 mm, Shimla 35 mm, Ghumarwin and Gohar 32 mm each, Kumarsain 31 mm, Sujanpur Tihra and Bhunter 25 mm each, Kasauli 24 mm, Jawali 21 mm, Shahpur 20.5 mm, Dharamsala, Bilaspur, Rampur, Kheri, Seobagh and Bajura 19 mm each, Pachhad, Sarahan, Kangra and Sundernagar 17 mm each, Pandoh 16 mm, Manali and Jhandutta 15 mm each.
There was no significant change in the minimum temperatures and Keylong recorded a minimum of 9.6 degrees C while Una registered the maximum temperature of 30.5 degrees C.
