Shimla, August 10
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today said he had taken up the issue of forest clearances for development projects with the Centre as at present the Supreme Court gives approval.
Asked by Jagat Negi about delay in forest clearances, he said the Supreme Court had granted approval in 600 cases.
"Several projects are stalled due to difficulty in obtaining permission for diverting forestland for development," he said. He had taken up the matter with the Prime Minister.
Asked by Ram Lal Thakur about the PET scan machine at the IGMC, Health Minister Rajiv Saizal said land had been identified for the purpose but forest clearance was awaited.
He said X-Ray machines had been installed in 118 health institutions under the PPP mode. —TNS
