As many as 228 Covid cases were reported in the state today, taking the tally to 211,979. Besides, five persons died of the virus—two in Mandi, and one each in Chamba, Shimla and Kangra.
The highest number of 80 cases was recorded in Mandi, followed by 32 in Kangra, 24 each in Hamirpur and Shimla, 20 in Chamba, 16 in Bilaspur, 10 in Kullu, eight in Una, six in Kinnaur, five in Lahaul and Spiti and three in Solan. The number of active cases reduced to 2,030.
