Traffic jams irk tourists

Traffic jams while entering Himachal is a major irritant for tourists. A long queue of vehicles welcomes visitors near Timber Trail, especially on weekends. The authorities should take some steps to ease out the flow of traffic from a four-laned stretch to a single lane which results in traffic being held up before the trijunction to Parwanoo and Shimla on the national highway.

Landslide threat

A few points on the road heading to upper Shimla have become prone to landslides, following heavy rains. The PWD should deploy their staff at such points to warn the approaching vehicle of the potential danger. This small step can save vehicles from landslides.
