PRIs representatives playing vital role in sensitizing people during COVID-19: CM





Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur Ji while addressing the members of Zila Parishad, BDC members and Panchayat Pradhans of various Gram Panchayats of Hamirpur and Una districts through video conferencing from Shimla today said that they were playing a vital role in fighting the COVID-19 in the State by sensitizing people regarding importance of isolation and social distancing to break the cycle of the virus.

One lakh Himachalis has returned home till now:CM

Chief Minister said during the last few days as many as one lakh Himachalis stranded in various parts of the Country have come back to the State and about 55000 were expected to come back within next few days. He said that since few of them were coming from red or orange zones it was essential to ensure proper medical check up of these persons and to keep them under quarantine. He said that State Government has launched ‘Nigah’ programme to keep close watch on people coming from other States. He said the programme aims to sensitize people of the State to ensure proper protocol to avoid corona infection.

Panchayats pradhans to keep close surveillance on people arriving in their areas: CM

Jai Ram ThakurJi said that the panchayat pradhans must ensure that they keep a close surveillance on people arriving in their areas from other parts of the country. He said efforts must be made that pradhans alongwith ASHA workers and other health functionaries visit the house of such persons before their arrival, so that the family members could be educated regarding social distancing even within the family.

Chief Minister said that the pradhans were also doing a commendable job in motivating people to download ‘Aarogya Setu App’. He said that they were also distributing face masks and face covers besides providing food to poor and needy. He also urged the pradhans to ensure proper sanitization of their panchayats to check outbreak of any disease. He said that they should also educate the people regarding social stigma associated with the disease as it was fight against the disease and not the infected person.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji has successfully guided the nation amid COVID 19n Crisis.

Jai Ram Thakur Ji said that it was due to the strong and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the magnitude of COVID-19 was not so alarming as compared to other developed countries. He said that Prime Minister during the video conferencing with the Chief Ministers of the States yesterday has urged the people to collectively fight corona but at the same time try to live with this pandemic with care and precautions.

Any violation of Home quarantine is not acceptable:CM

Chief Minister said that all the panchayat pradhans must help the family members who have limited accommodation to ensure proper social distancing by providing them isolated accommodation in community centres, panchayat ghar and mahila mandal bhawans etc. He said that proper vigil should be kept on the persons to ensure that they does not jump from home quarantine. He said that if a person was found that he was not following the home quarantine norms, the matter should be brought before the district administration so that he could be kept under institutional quarantine.

Work under MNREGA must be expedited following Social distancing norms:CM

Jai Ram Thakur Ji said that elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions must also come forward to start various developmental activities in their respective panchayats. He said that work under MNREGA be expedited but at the same time it must be ensured that proper social distancing norms were followed.
Rural Development Minister Virender Kanwar thanked the Chief Minister for sparing his valuable time to guide the elected representatives of PRIs in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
Pradhan of Gram Panchayat, Jambali of Bijhari block in Hamirpur district Satish Soni, Pradhan Gram Panchayat Kakkar of Bamsan Block in Hamirpur district Jyoti Thakur, Pradhan Gram Panchayat Anu in Hamirpur district Sunder Dhiman, Pradhan Gram Panchayat Amb Tika of Amb Block in Una district Darshran Singh and Pradhan Gram Panchayat Laroli of Amb Block in Una district also shared their views during the video conferencing.

Neeraj thanks Chief Minister for sanctioning Rs. 30,000 for his treatment


Neeraj Son of Rajmal of Jogindernagar area of Mandi district thanked Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur  Ji for sanctioning Rs. 30,000 from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for his treatment.
Neeraj is under treatment at Agadi Hospital and Research Centre Bangalore, Karnataka for liver disease.
It is worth mentioning here that Chief Minister Relief Fund is used to help the poor and needy at the time of distress
