CM Jai Ram Thakur Ji directed officers to ensure quarantine norms being followed strictly







Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur Ji while presiding over the meeting with the senior officers of the State Government to review the situation in the State, in wake of corona pandemic here today directed the officers to ensure that the people of the State coming from other parts of the country must strictly follow quarantine norms.

Persons coming from red zone must be kept in quarantine:

Chief Minister said that all the persons coming back to the State from other parts of the country must be examined and thereafter it should be decided that he or she needs to be kept under home quarantine or institutional quarantine.  He said that complete data of persons who have arrived in Himachal Pradesh from other States should be compiled and person coming from red zone must be kept in quarantine centre.

Nodal officers appointed to coordinate the movement of migrants, students, tourists, and other persons:

Jai Ram Thakur said that steps must also be taken to facilitate the people of other States, particularly students and labourers stranded in the State, to go to their respective destinations. He said that as per the guidelines of Union Ministry of Home Affairs, elaborate arrangements have been made to bring back the people of Himachal Pradesh stranded in other States.  He said that State Government had already appointed adequate number of supporting officers to the Nodal Authority to coordinate movement of the migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons outside the State.

Person jumping home quarantine should be immediately shifted to institutional quarantine:

Chief Minister said institutional quarantine centres must be identified in the State and care must be taken. He said that these centres should be in secluded place away from residential and busy areas. He said that it must be ensured that the person jumping home quarantine should be immediately shifted to institutional quarantine. He said that the passes for the people of the State, keen on coming back to the State from other parts of the country  must be issued in a staggered manner to avoid unnecessary crowding at the entry points of the State.

CM addresses Panchayat Pradhans of Seraj Vidhan Sabha area through Video Conferencing


While addressing the Panchayat Pradhans of Seraj Vidhan Sabha area of Mandi district through video conferencing from Shimla, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur asked them to ensure that the people of their respective areas, coming back home from different parts of the country, strictly follow the norms of home quarantine and social distancing.

Panchayats have an important role to play in educating people :CM

Jai Ram Thakur said that the Panchayat Pradhans should also motivate the family members of the person coming home from other parts of the country, to adhere the norms of social distancing within the family as well. He said that the person should be asked to use separate washroom and in case not possible the same should be properly sanitised after use. He said that the party workers should also motivate the people to avoid any kind of social and religious gatherings. He said that this could be risky in catching the virus.
Chief Minister said that the elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions must ensure that those visiting the village do not jump the home quarantine. He said that the people must also be sensitized of steps taken to check spread of this pandemic and also be motivated to use face mask and face covers.

 Corona affected needs care and attention:CM

Jai Ram Thakur said that the Panchayat Pradhans must also ensure that the fight was against the COVID-19 virus and not against any person suffering from this disease. He said that it must be ensured not no social stigma was associated with this virus.  He said that the Government has allowed the Public Works Department and Jal Shakti Vibhag to start work in their jurisdiction by effectively maintaining social distancing.
Chief Minister said that works under MNREGA must be carried out smoothly and expeditiously, but at the same time proper social distancing must be maintained. He said that steps must also be taken to sanitise local markets and public places and shopkeepers must be asked to wear face masks and maintain social distancing in their shops.
Jai Ram Thakur said the State Government was ensuring adequate arrangements for smooth transportation of agriculture produces to the markets.
