Himalayan states defined as Priority Areas under UDAN 2

New Delhi Jan 2,2019. Union Minister of State for civil aviation Shri Jayant Sinha told Shimla MP Sh Virender Kashyap in Lok Sabha  that The States of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand, North Eastern Region of India, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep Islands have been defined as Priority Area(s) for providing connectivity to un-served and under-served airports of the country under UDAN 2.

The Minister told that total 31 heliports have been identified for providing better  air connectivity in these states . He told that out of

of 31 Heliports identified under UDAN 2 are of six from Arunachal Pradesh, one from Assam, six from Himachal Pradesh, five from Manipur and thirteen from Uttarakhand.
